Australian Civil Society Statement.

Prepared by the Australian Round Table on the Civil Society (RACS).

The COIN Internet Research Network (COIN-IRN) at Central Queensland University and the Centre for Community Networking Research (CCNR) at Monash University were sponsored by National Office for the Information Economy (NOIE) to coordinate the development of a Civil Society statement for the WSIS, 2003.

NOIE coordinated Australia's participation in the World Summit on the Information Society and attending regional and preparatory meetings. NOIE was also involved with civil society groups that are having input to the Summit. It sponsored the development of a Civil Society statement.

NOIE was replaced by the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) on 8 April, 2004.
