Busting the Sri Lankan Community Radio Myth
Sri Lankan community radio has had a reputation as being one of the shining lights of the development community. The UNESCO supported projects are often prized examples of successful models of participation between doner agencies, partners and the community. Nalaka Gunawardene explores the myth and describes the reality never referred to in the presentations, the research papers and no doubt careers that have been strengthened through these projects.
