OAK Law Project Report Launched

The Honourable Justice James Douglas of the Supreme Court of Queensland, officially launched the Open Access to Knowledge (OAK) Law Project Report No. 1 in Brisbane on 29 November and Professor Mary O’Kane launched the Report in Sydney on 30 November 2006.
The OAK Law Project is creating a legal framework for copyright management of open access within the Australian academic and research sector. This Report investigates a legal framework that supports open access to Australian academic and research outputs such as articles and electronic theses and dissertations. The Report explains that with the rise of networked digital technologies our knowledge landscape and innovation system is increasingly reliant on best practice copyright management strategies.
