Fair use - Have your say
AUSTRALIA -- Charles Wright, in his venerable column in The Age, states that " Australian legislators have imposed what is arguably the most user-unfriendly copyright regime in the Western world." You can change this by participating in the democratic process by making a public submission to the Attorney-General Phillip Ruddock.
Mr Ruddock has released an issues paper on "Fair use and other copyright exceptions - an examination of fair use, fair dealing and other exceptions in the digital age".
We have till July 1 to comment on the existing laws and put more reasonable proposals to the Goverment.
Read the Issues Paper and swing into action.
For a more detailed analysis of the issues at hand, read Wright's article, You have to fight for your rights.
