Entry PASCAL Online Forum on Social Capital

The PASCAL Observatory will host a free, week-long, online forum with Dr Jim Cavaye to explore ideas about social capital, from May 24th to May 31st, 2004.

This forum will explore what we know about social capital and what issues and questions remain. It is designed as a conversation, to raise issues and questions and seeking to stimulate debate.

The starting point for the forum will be Dr Cayaye's paper, "Social Capital: a Commentary on Issues, Understanding and Measurement". The paper is available from PASCAL at:

Jim Cavaye is an accomplished practitioner, educator and researcher in the area of community development, with 20 years experience working with rural and regional communities. He is the Director of Cavaye Community Development and works with a wide range of communities, organisations and government agencies across Australia.

The PASCAL Observatory is an international collaboration between RMIT (Melbourne, Australia), The University of Stirling and Kent County Council, for strategic information tracking and service sharing in the area of international developments in place management, social capital and learning regions.
